Granite State Flash runners excelled at the New Hampshire Outdoor Track & Field Class Championships held Saturday

Championships held
at Hollis-Brookline High School Laconia senior Sam Wood finished his high school career by doubling in the 1600 (5th-4:31) and 3200 (8th-10:10) while
Con-Val freshman
Alex McGrath placed 9th in the 3200 finishing in 10:16.
At the Boy’s Class L Championships
held at Londonderry High School John Schroeder of Nashua North ran 4:18.16,
one of the fastest 1600 meter time in Class L history finishing second to Cory Thorne of Portsmouth who
broke the Class L record in a time of 4:16. Schroeder’s Nashua North Teammate Ryan McCarty finished 6th overall in the 1600 running 4:32 while Dante Vitagliano of Manchester Central was 9th overall after having run a 800 meter leg 90 minutes earlier on Central’s first place 4 x 800 meter relay team. Schroeder also competed in the 3200 finishing 4th overall
in 9:37. Sophomore Anthony Merra of Bishop Guertin
finished 6th in the 3200 in 9:57. In the boys 800 meter Central 9th grader Matt Paulson finished 2nd in 1:57 with Keith Thibeault of Alvirne finished 7th in 1:58 and Alex Hall of Central placed. Alex Brown of Alvirne finished 8th in the 110meter hurdles,
5th in the 300 meter hurdles while also anchoring the 3rd place Alvrine 4 x 400 relay team. Brown’s teammate Paul Mayer of Alvirne finished 6th in the 400 meters in 51.22.
On the Girls side Julianne Quinn of Manchester West dueled rival and top seeded Megan
Lessard of Central to the finish 2nd in the girls 800 meter in 2:17.88. Following was Timberlane freshman Kelly Desharnais who was 4th overall in 2:22. Amy Burke of Bishop Guertin was 8th in the 1600 while Memorial’s Holly Banaian was
2nd and Mary Casinghino 12th in the 3200 meter. Congratulations to all of our Flash runners!!
