For the 14th running of this city classic, 14 Flash runners, coaches and alumni took to the familiar downtown Nashua streets for this early season out-and-back course. Dedicated to providing shelter and food to those in need in the Nashua community, this race is a major fundraiser and great community get-together. With raffle prizes, a tremendous table of post-race sandwiches and cookies there was no shortage of hospitality shown by the race coordinators. And with weather that couldn’t have been better- sunny and a little warm- the team really shook out the cobwebs.
Leading up the Flash group for the second straight race and finishing an amazing 4th overall,
Michael Robinson clocked an 18:38, followed closely by Joe St. Pierre in at 18:47. For the girls, alumnus Meghan Lynch finished first with a strong 24:37. Rounding out the Flash contingent were Jack Collopy,
Benjamin Platt,Brennan Morris, Matt Robinson and Brett Quinn. Meghan’s alumni brothers Sean, Ryan and Patrick helped to round out the Flash group, showing their talent and love for running. Coaches Justin Platt andJim Robinson along with former coach Mike Merra helped get the kids ready and gave them a target to chase after- and pass!
The Granite State Flash primarily train and compete during the fall XC season, but run together throughout the year to keep the commitment to running and teamwork strong.
